The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is running an exhibition in April called Monochrome.  

The return of one of our most popular exhibitions, Monochrome, is an open-themed exhibition.

With Monochrome you can take out other distractions and really focus on the light, the shadow and the subject within the image.

Any subject matter will be considered as long as the image is monochrome, whether that be black and white photography, cyanotypes, or even sepia; all will be considered.

Monochrome is an open call for photographers to submit up to 8 images.

If selected participants will have:

• Their work printed and displayed in the gallery

• Their work displayed in an online gallery on our website


• Their work be included in an exhibition catalogue


• A digital certificate of participation sent out before the start of the exhibition 


• Their work will be photographed in situ once installed. These photos will be shared with participants directly via email and through our social media after the exhibition has started. 


• Their work will be videoed. These videos will be share via the gallery’s social media pages. 


• Have their work automatically put forward for a chance to be named Photographer of the Month.

How to participate: 

Submissions are FREE.  If your work is selected there will be a participation fee of £50.00. Unless otherwise stated by the gallery, images will either be printed 16"x12, 18"x12", or 12"x12" in size depending on the image.

Please note that the frames used belong to the gallery

Submission Checklist
:

• Your name should be used as the files, Firstname-Surname, e.g John-Smith1, John-Smith2. This is so we know who the files belong to. 
The name in your file should be the same name you wished to be displayed under.

• Files should be JPEG files only, using sRGB colour profile.

• Images should be 300ppi and 3000 Pixels minimum on the shortest side.

In your email or the message section of your submission

 please state:

• Tell us the name you wish for us to use.
 (Use the same name as file names)

• Tell us your Nationality or Country in which you reside.


• State which exhibition you are submitting to.

• Titles of your images (if applicable)


• State any social media or website links you wish for us to use.

Send your 1 - 8 files using either Smash, Wetransfer or Dropbox (which are free to use) to our submission email address submissions@glasgowgalleryofphotography.com. Please do not send images as email attachments as this tends to compress your files. Also please send all your images at the same time, and not one image at a time.

If you are selected to participate or on the reserve list, you will be notified by email. Those not selected will not be notified.
